Housing and Meal Plan Options

Living on Campus

Details about summer housing, including costs, and the Summer Housing Application can be found at reslife.uconn.edu/summer-housing. (For #11 (Room type), select the  "Werth Double" option, and for  #15 (Summer Session 2 or UConn First Summer (07/9-8/10), select "yes" when signing up for housing. (UConn First Summer takes place during Summer Session 2.)

Living on campus is required to attend UConn First Summer. Living on campus and taking part in programming specifically designed to help you make the transition to UConn this fall is an integral part of the First Summer experience, and as important to the program as your two academic courses.

For that reason, living off campus is not an option for students who wish to take part in First Summer. If you are simply interested in taking one or two classes at UConn before fall semester, you are always welcome to do so on your own. See summersession.uconn.edu for more details.

First Summer students will live in air-conditioned suites in Peter J. Werth Residence Tower, in the Hilltop area of campus.

As during the year, Residence Life fully staffs occupied residence halls with trained Resident Assistants (RA’s). Additionally, summer housing is overseen by two full-time Hall Directors, who work in coordination with the offices of Residential Life and Residence Education, both of which report to the Division of Student Affairs at UConn. Both UConn Campus Safety and Buildings and Grounds work closely with Residential Life to ensure the safety and well-being of students housed on campus.

Dining and Meal Plan Options

Details about the housing and the three available meal plans for Summer, including cost, can be found soon at the Summer Housing page at reslife.uconn.edu (UConn First Summer takes place during Summer Session 2.).  All First Summer students will live in the Peter J. Werth Residence Hall; living alongside other First Summer students is integral to the program

UConn First Summer students will usually eat at either the Putnam or South Campus dining facilities, depending on the week of the program. Putnam has been recently renovated and offers a unique 2-floor dining experience. Check out the dining locations for close-ups of these facilities.
