UConn FS is an exciting summer opportunity designed for all incoming first-year and transfer students who will be starting their first semester at UConn in the fall. This intensive five-week program was created to give admitted students a strong jump start to both their coursework and the UConn experience. To participate in UConn FS, students must submit this application of interest to the program. Before applying, review the courses offerings, dates and fees, and FAQ page to determine if UConn FS is a right fit for you. After the application has been received and processed, students will receive an email confirmation. The email will contain next steps information on how to complete the course enrollment step in the Student Administration system. Those admitted students, receive an invitation to join the Honors Program as part of their acceptance letter to UConn. Yes No What sport are you a part of as a student-athlete?* ScholarshipThe Provost’s First Summer Scholarship is a limited scholarship available for a few students. If the scholarship decision impacts your ability to participate in the program, all students registered in the program have until June 30th to cancel program attendance and receive a refund of any paid fees (minus the $45 University enrollment fee). Scholarship funds for First Summer are limited. This scholarship is not in any way tied to federal or other guaranteed financial aid awards during the regular academic year. We will unfortunately not be able to offer scholarships to all students with demonstrated need. Students who are offered a scholarship may be offered funds sufficient to cover all or only part of First Summer costs. To be eligible, applicants must submit this application by May 23, 2023 and must: -Demonstrate high financial need based on the financial aid application submitted to the University (your 2023-2024 FAFSA submission will be evaluated to determine eligibility) -Complete a personal essay The personal essay must be a one-page, double-spaced narrative explaining your current academic goals, why you are interested in the First Summer program, and how you think this experience will enhance your undergraduate experience and have an impact on your future.
