The health, safety, and well-being of our students, instructors, and staff is our top priority. After careful consideration and comprehensive discussions with many who are deeply invested in the health and education of our students, we have decided that the most responsible course of action is to cancel the UConn First Summer program. Unfortunately, the Program’s focus on providing a residential experience does not make online learning a realistic or feasible option.
We fully understand this is a pivotal time in your life as a student preparing for college and share in the deep disappointment that this decision brings. The University of Connecticut offers online courses during the summer which students can apply to through the Summer Sessions website.
In the coming weeks, we will also share more information with resources on our website to allow students to get to know departments across campus that will guide and prepare students for their first semester on campus.

No, based on numerous conversations with health professionals and university partners we have decided it would be irresponsible to run any sessions this summer. We share in the disappointment of this decision, but we are making a conscious effort to prioritize the health and safety of our staff, students, and campus partners.
