Students are required to participate in all five weeks of the program and reside at the Storrs Campus.

Registration & Fees Timeline

June 1st Scholarship Deadline Applications submitted after this date are not eligible to be considered for any scholarships
June 15th Priority Deadline Applications may continue to be submitted based on course availability and will be reviewed on a case-by-case- basis. Payment and forms must be submitted at the time of enrollment
June 16th Scholarship Decision Date Scholarship decisions will be emailed out to recipients
June 22nd Course Selection Deadline Applicants will receive a form to select the two 3-credit courses they will take in addition to the FYE course throughout the program
June 27th Cancellation Deadline Last day to cancel the program
June 29th Housing Application Deadline All applicants will be living at the Storrs campus for the 5-week program and must apply for housing online
July 8th Campus Orientation Due All UConn students are required to attend campus orientation - UCFS participants must attend their orientation prior to the start of the program
July 13th Move-in All participants arrive on campus for 10am-12pm move into Werth Tower - Mandatory Orientation 12:30-2:00pm
July 14th Program Start First day of classes!
August 15th Program End Last day of classes
August 16th Move-out All participants will move-out of their summer housing

The cost of attending UConn First Summer is the same as it would be for any UConn student attending a Summer session at the Storrs campus. There are no additional program fees to participate in First Summer. The total cost for participating includes the two course fees, required university fees, housing, and your choice of meal plan.

*Housing fee: Residence at the Storrs campus is mandatory. Students will be living in Werth Tower, in a double occupancy room and should expect to have a roommate. We are unable to accept requests for single rooms except in cases for accommodation (click here to learn about getting housing accommodations).

*Dining fee: all summer housing requires a meal plan. Summer meal plans include 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner per day. Unused meals do not rollover to the following day. You have the option to select between two meal plans:

  • Meals all 7 days per week: $189/week

A housing application will need to be completed by all accepted students where they will be able to select meal plan options. Housing and meal fees will be posted on July 13 to students account. (Click here to learn more about dietary accommodations)
