Coming to UConn in the Fall?
Welcome to the University of Connecticut. We have quite the Summer in Storrs for you!
We want to make sure you get the most out of your summer experience prior to starting your semester at UConn. A list of materials and information you might want or need can be found below.
Student Check-In & Check-Out

Peter J. Werth Residence Tower, 2378 Alumni Drive, Storrs, CT
Students will be able to check-in at the front desk located in the first floor of Peter J. Werth Residence Tower.

Look out for the UConn First Summer signs around campus to direct you to the residence hall.
Check-Out:
Students must check out by 11:00am on August 13th. Students will need to turn in their key and sign their key receipt to officially check out at the Werth front desk.
Welcome Orientation
A student Welcome Orientation will take place on Sunday, after student check-in concludes at 4:00pm. You will have the opportunity to understand the program more in detail, meet your Student Mentors, and other peers.
Housing Application
Students are required to submit the housing application by July 7th.
Housing fee: Residence at the Storrs campus during the summer program is mandatory. Students will be living in Werth Tower, in a double occupancy room and should expect to have a roommate. We are unable to accept requests for single rooms.
Dining fee: all summer housing requires a meal plan. Summer meal plans include 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner per day. Unused meals do not rollover to the following day. When you complete your housing application, you will have the option to select between two meal plans:
- Meals all 7 days per week: $171.50/week
- Meals 5 days per week (Monday-Friday only): $122.50/week
Please note that housing and meal fees will be posted on July 14 to students account.

Student Health History Form & COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement
Students are required to submit the Student Health History Form by July 1st. Please login to the Student Health Portal. This will be where you can access all of the forms required of new students.
To enroll at UConn, students on the Storrs and regional campuses are required to be up-to-date in their vaccination status against COVID-19 and are required to report vaccination compliance to Student Health and Wellness (SHaW).
- Students must upload their COVID-19 vaccination records into the SHaW patient portal. This includes partial vaccination records.

Your UConn ID
You will need your UConn ID to access the residence hall, dining services, and more. Be sure to submit your photo and have the ID card with you when you arrive for check-in.

HuskyCT
HuskyCT is the university's learning management system where your professor may share the course syllabus, information about office hours, course readings, and other information that may be needed for your course. Be sure to check it out before you arrive for check-in. You can access HuskyCT with your NetID and password. For help with your netID please visit: netid.uconn.edu

Meet your Student Mentors
Who are the Student Mentors? Student Mentors (SM) oversee the day-to-day community building aspects of the First Summer program and support the social, academic, and personal development of our students. Check out who your SM's will be this summer here.
Workshops
Workshops are one of the added benefits of being a UConn First Summer student, and they are a great way to explore the resources and opportunities available to you at UConn. These workshops are meant to help you feel prepared for the transition to college level life and learning.
